Sarah

Bio

I live on the beautiful West Side of Saint Paul. My husband Matt and I have two great kids Freddie, 9 years old, and Bonnie, 7 years old. I work at The Minnesota Birth Center (MBC), Twin Cities Birth Center (TCBC) and Birth Doula Sarah.

I attended Normandale Community College, and Argosy University where I studied diagnostic ultrasound earning a Degree in Sonography. I am board registered and certified in the following areas of ultrasound: Abdomen, Vascular, Small Parts/Procedures, Gynecology and Obstetrics.

For thirteen years I was a hospital Sonographer. I worked at Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL; Saint John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN; Sant Rosa Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA; Finally, eight years at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

One year before the COVID-19 epidemic began, I had resigned from hospital work. I was exhausted and depressed from my fast-paced career. I took a year off to stay at home with my children and regroup myself.

I dipped my toes back into sonography by staying true to the parts I love, babies and their families! I began working at birth centers strictly as a OB Sonographer and I enjoy it tremendously.

I completed training by DONA (Doula Of North America) International, and two Doula Internships, at MBC and TCBC. I have been the Doula in hospital, birth center, and home births. I am experienced with births that are urgent, high-risk, cesarean, induced, vaginal, medicated and unmedicated.

With my extensive background as a Sonographer and a mother, I bring special knowledge and expertise to my work as a Doula. At Birth Doula Sarah, I provide personalized support to help you achieve the healthiest, most satisfying birth experience possible!
